Loans & Savings Groups

Our women empowerment project has helped more South Sudanese by enhancing their skill set in financial stability, thus enabling them to witness changes in their families and communities.

Using a Village Saving Loans model (VSLA), SSWU provided training and facilitated the formation of small groups of about 15 – 25 members. Upon completion of training, the trainees are supported with seed money through their groups to start a small business. The borrowed amount is refunded to the group on an agreed term. The money is then used as a revolving funds to support other groups. 200 Women from the refugees and IDPs benefited from our Village Saving and Loans between 2020-2022.
